No shampoo

My husband has decided, on his own, that he would like to stop using shampoo.  According to him, our logic is faulty–remove all the moisture, then add it back, remove moisture, add conditioner…  He would rather let his hair find its own balance.  I’m curious to see how this goes.  I don’t think that I could personally do it, with my long hair, but it might be easier with short hair.  Anyone else tried this before?

  1. I tried not using shampoo or conditioner for a month. I replaced them with baking soda and apple cider vinegar. I didn’t not like the results. My hair is dry and naturally curly and by the end of the month it was lifeless and gross. I’ve read that the gross stage can last for awhile, but I wasn’t willing to try it for longer.

  2. I tried it, but like Heather, it didn’t take long for my hair to be quite gross. I also gave up when even after trying to style it there was no way to make it presentable for work. Good luck with it though! I’ve read of it working well for others!

I tried this once too. I believe one friend asked me what the f*ck happened to my hair and my hairdresser begged me to never do it again.

You guys crack me up… Well, just like you all decided, my husband thinks no shampoo isn’t such a great idea anymore. He tried it for 2-3 weeks and then gave up. To be entirely honest, I think his hair looks better.
