Blue zones

My husband just shared this article with me about places in the world where people longer and healthier than in most areas–called blue zones.  There are five blue zones in the world–Okinawa, Japan, a penninsula on Costa Rice, an island in Italy, an island in Greece, and Loma Linda, CA.  That last one surprises you a bit, doesn’t it?  Turns out it’s among Seventh Day Adventists in Loma Linda.  The secret appears to be a healthy lifestyle–good diet, daily exercise, and a low stress lifestyle that incorporates family, purpose, religion, meaning, and a low sense of time urgency.  My favorite part was the video that mentioned the importance of napping.  The video is only six minutes and worth watching.  Check it out!
