On Earth Day 2009, I said that I was going to start biking to the gym instead of driving. And I have been! My husband tuned up my bike and I started riding again for the first time in 6 years. I’d forgotten how much I enjoy it! It doesn’t take that much longer to get there, I like the fresh air, I notice more things around me when I’m biking instead of driving, and I’m driving 3-4 miles less each time I go, which is about four times a week. If I keep this up, I’ll put 600-800 fewer miles on my car in the next year. Yay!
