Green Toys
We do not own any of these toys, but I’m so happy to see that they’re available. They’re made with recycled materials and contain no BPA or phthalates. I have to say that I still get nervous about plastic toys that my baby might mouth, and definitely prefer wood or metal, but I would consider buying these! This tea set is especially cute.
Here is more detailed info about Green Toys from oompa.com:
Green Toys designs and produces all of their toys directly out of California, USA. Every part of the toy making process is done with consideration for the environment, in the materials they use, and the process by which they produce and distribute their toys. All Green Toys are derived from recycled milk jugs, then reprocessed into new, harder plastic (HDPE, considered one of the safest, cleanest plastics around). The packaging for Green Toys is extremely minimalist; no plastic film, styrofoam or twist ties are used, only 100% recyclable, corrugated cardboard.
Not only are Green Toys environmentally friendly, they are also extremely safe. All Green Toys meet and exceed;
- American ASTM requirements for the manufacture of safe toys
- California Prop. 65 restrictions on lead & cadmium
- FDA regulations for food contact
- California regulations prohibiting phthalates in toys
- Voluntary testing for no BPA (Bisphenol-A)
