So I will try to keep posting regularly, but obviously won’t be able to put the time into it that I’d like.I did want to mention a really cool product we’ve come across in picking options for our new home–carpet made from recycled plastic water bottles! One in every four recycled plastic water bottles in the U.S. ends up as Mohawk carpet. Carpet is usually very nasty stuff, for the environment and our health. It off-gases many VOCs, coming from the carpet pad to glue. Stainmaster treatments may protect the carpet from stains but the chemicals involved are dangerous to our health. Not to mention the waste that is produced when homeowners tear out their carpet every decade or so and replace it. But it’s great to know that more green options are available these days.
