Flourless chocolate cake

Disclaimer:  This recipe is not healthy.  It is loaded with sugar, butter, and fat.  But it is delicious and everyone deserves a treat like this once in a while.  Our neighbor is a professional baker and he created this cake recipe.  My favorite thing is that it only has FOUR ingredients.  We’re making it for Valentine’s Day.  It’s so rich, that you really don’t need much to satisfy your sweet tooth.  Maybe you can make it for your sweetheart this Valentine’s.


Ingredients:

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, 4 oz bitter chocolate (or all 12 oz semi-sweet)
  • 8 oz butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 eggs


Instructions:

  1. Melt over water chocolate and butter. Let cool for 15 minutes, then add sugar and stir well.  Add eggs and stir well, taking care not to beat the eggs.
  2. Pour batter into 10-inch cake pan with parchment paper on bottom and coated with non-stick spray or butter.
  3. Place cake pan into larger pan.  Fill the larger pan with water 1/2 way up the cake pan.
  4. Cover and bake at 350 F for 1 hour.  Cake will be very puffy when done. Let cool 1 hour and then refrigerate.
