1: Organic bedding
Organic bedding is a great gift because it’s something you probably would love to have but wouldn’t necessarily spend the money yourself to get. Cotton is a heavily sprayed crop and buying it organic means not only that it doesn’t contain pesticides, but also often that it is not artificially dyed, bleached with chlorine, or treated with other chemicals to prevent wrinkling. It is often not possible for us to afford organic cotton, especially when it comes to all the things in our home made of cotton–sheets, duvet covers, blankets, towels, and clothing. But if you’re going to buy something organic, the sheets you rest your head on for 1/3 of each day is a good place to start. Organic bedding is available from stores like Pottery Barn and West Elm, or you can also buy online. We’ve had great experiences shopping at Gaiam.com and Daxstores.com. The customer service at Dax Stores is particularly impressive. Consider throws, blankets, sheets, wool mattress toppers, or my personal favorite, a natural pillow made with organic cotton, wool or natural latex.

It’s great to see more on these types of products. I love the organic home environment for my whole families benefit.
